Water Heater Repair Westminster

Westminster Plumbing and The Importance of Water Heater Maintenance

Water Heater Repair Water heaters are some of the most common household plumbing equipment. They are installed in nearly every household. They are used on a daily basis and depending on the number of people in a household; their usage can be intense. Like any other plumbing equipment, water heaters deteriorate with age and use. They experience leakages, blockages and sometimes do not produce heat. They also experience failures and may surprise you with a cold shower or a flooded house. Leakages occur when a water heater develops any kind of perforations. Leakages also occur when some parts of the heater are not adequately tightened. Blockages of water occur if there are sediments in the water heater that block water movement or release. Most blockages, however, occur due to calcium buildup, especially in areas that have hard water. Water heaters need to be flushed at least annually. Draining the water heater improves their functionality. Flushing also ensures a cleaner system and cleaner water, efficient water dispensing, as well as lower energy consumption. When the water heater is ultimately damaged, you may need to replace it all together. However, you can save a coin in your budget by practicing a maintenance routine for your heaters. The following are some of the reasons why water heater repair and maintenance are important:

Water Heater Safety

The most important factor in a home and household equipment is its safety. A poorly maintained, or rather not maintained equipment is not safe for use. Water heaters need regular maintenance to check on its parts that may compromise the safety of its use. Water heaters that have faulty valves can cause burns and scalds.

Increased Efficiency

A water heater that is not checked regularly is not efficient. The sediment build-up slows the water from refilling and the water volume is poor. You may not have enough hot water for use. If you are using an electric water heater, the sediment can destroy the lower heating element. In gas water heaters, the mineral deposits create hot spots that damage the tank. These damages cause inefficiency and unnecessary high-energy consumption.

Extends Heater Lifespan

A regular heater maintenance increases the lifespan of your water heater. In the instances where there is a calcium water buildup, the absence of maintainers and clean-up could allow the calcium to build up into a rock. When the sediments solidify, you will need to replace the heater altogether. Therefore, it is important to keep at least an annual or biannual maintenance routine for your water heater repair.

Good Water Volume

Sediment and mineral build up in your water heater reduces the volume of water the tank. A regular maintenance ensures that the tank is clean of all sediments and build up, therefore, ensuring your volume is always as high as it should be. It might look like an additional item on your budget, but water heater maintenance cost is a worthy expenditure. It is safer for your household to have its water heaters maintained regularly. The efficiency that comes with this practice will save you money in the end with water heater repair.

What are signs of Water Heater Repair Issues?

There are a number of signs that indicate your water heater isn’t working as normal. Of course, the most common sign is that it doesn’t provide sufficient hot water. This can be caused by a problem with the thermostat, thinning of the water heater insulation inside or sediment build–up on the base of the water heater that will block the transfer of heat. Does your water heater turn on when it is supposed to? This is another sign. Let us take care of your water heater repair needs.
